If your trading platform (MT4 or MT5) is not connecting or functioning properly, there are several common reasons. Follow the checks below to quickly identify and resolve the issue.
1. Check Your Connection Status
In MT4/MT5, look at the bottom-right corner of the platform:
- Green bars indicate a successful connection.
- Red bars or no bars indicate no connection to the server.
If you see red bars or “No Connection,” the platform is not connected to the trading server.
2. Verify Your Login Details
Connection issues often occur due to incorrect login credentials. Please ensure:
- You are using the correct account login number
- Your password is entered correctly
- You have selected the correct server (Live or Demo)
If you see an error such as “Invalid Account”, it usually means the login details or server selection are incorrect.
3. Rescan or Change the Server
If the platform cannot connect:
- Click on the connection status at the bottom of the platform.
- Select Rescan Servers.
- Choose the server with the strongest signal and reconnect.
This helps the platform find the most stable connection.
4. Check Internet & Firewall Settings
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
- Check that your firewall, antivirus, or network restrictions are not blocking the platform.
- If using a VPN, try disabling it and reconnecting.
5. Platform or Market Conditions
- If the market is closed, trading may be temporarily unavailable.
- Scheduled maintenance or platform updates may also affect connectivity.
- Restarting the platform or your device can often resolve temporary issues.
