A Trailing Stop Loss allows your Stop Loss to automatically move as the market price moves in your favour. This helps protect profits without manually adjusting the Stop Loss.
Follow the steps below to set a Trailing Stop on the MT4 desktop platform.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open the MT4 platform
Go to the Terminal window at the bottom of the screen
Click on the Trade tab
Right-click on the open position you want to apply a trailing stop to
Select Trailing Stop
Choose the desired trailing distance (for example: 20, 30, or 50 points)
Once selected, the Trailing Stop will be activated automatically.
Important Notes
Only one Trailing Stop can be set per open position
Your MT4 platform must remain open for the Trailing Stop to function
Trailing Stops are not available on MT4 mobile (Android & iOS)
